Stay Strong
& Beautiful

Sthenollos is a brand whose name is coined from two greek words, sthenos (strength) + kallos (beauty), with a tagline of “Stay strong and beautiful.”
Sthenolloss one aim is to connect people with personal trainers who can create customised workout plan for the app users.

Getting information on Users

I wanted to have some data to work with, so I did short interviews with 10 people who tried working out on their own and failed. This is the summary:

  • 5 people said the process took too much of their time
  • 4 people said they were not seeing the desired changes on their body
  • 3 people said they didn’t take it serious since it had no cost implication
  • 3 people said they couldn’t reach their goals daily and lost motivation

While these are small numbers, it was more than enough for me and my personal project.

Current Solutions

Before diving in and bringing my own solutions, I downloaded the top workout apps in the Play Store, one of which I used some time ago, and learned how they currently answer these problems. I found some nice time-saving features, and also one app which I thought was well designed and user-centered (Home workout — No equipment), but most apps weren’t intuitive, and they didn’t seem to me like they bring the best solutions for their users’ needs.

Ideation, Design & Prototypes

My approach was to create an intuitive and interactive interface for its users. Create multiple screens for both the users and the trainers, with the users having the ability to see their progress, activities, notifications and chat with their trainers likewise the trainers. I sketched out a number of different interaction model concepts  iOS and Android. Along with final visual design and prototypes. These helped demonstrate how interactions looked and felt.

The User

The user has access to the workout for the day and also the weekly progress and also has access to his/her profile.

On Login

When a new user logs in, he/she lands on page where he/she can search on trainers with suggestions given. Also on the landing page, we have the home tab, activity tab and the chat tab. On clicking search for a trainer, one would see list of trainers and they would be able to sort and also add filters. When a trainer is selected, details about the trainer will be seen and the user can immediately apply and start chat with the trainer.

Apply/Chat

On clicking apply, the user gets to see the amount been paid for and also the duration and is prompted to add card details and make payments. The payment details will can be seen on the activity tab of the App. If Start Chat is selected, the user can start chatting with the trainer.

The Trainer

When a trainer is logged in, he/she can view his/her profile, view clients, notification, also chat with clients and monitor activities.

On Login

On clicking on a particular client, this is where all the magic happens. The trainer is able to see some details about the client including the weight and height and also job profession to best know what workout regime would be great for the client.

On tapping Set New Week, the trainer can select days and begin to add exercises. After an exercise has been added, The trainer can added more exercises by clicking add new exercise, where the name, number of reps, number of sets, duration and equipment(if needed can be added).

After saving, this is reflected on the users page, where they can see their workout regime.

Other Screens

I believe this application we will work for people for can’t go to the gym, for people who have personal gyms in the house and even for those who still go to a public gym, It can be used by All.
